Overview
The CombatLog plugin for Minecraft is a tool designed to manage player combat interactions on multiplayer servers. It helps prevent unfair play by monitoring and controlling player behavior during combat situations. When a player attempts to log out or disconnect during a fight, CombatLog imposes penalties such as marking the player as a "combat logger," applying damage, or even killing the player in-game. This discourages players from evading combat by disconnecting. The plugin is highly configurable, allowing server administrators to customize settings such as the duration of combat tags, penalties for logging out, and notifications. CombatLog enhances the fairness and competitiveness of multiplayer Minecraft gameplay by ensuring that combat encounters are resolved without exploitation.
Result
CombatLog exploded in popularity as third-party servers discovered the unique capabilities of the plugin, eventually reaching over 380K downloads running on thousands of Linux servers across the world.
